It is me a mom of six trying there companies fun summer learning products and getting the word out about them. I get to share how to get great tips that will keep your kids learning throughout the Summer, and not saying “I’m bored!”. I love the Lakeshore’s Summer Hub where you can get free ideas and activities to do with your kids! I was amazed it offers everything from Lesson plans
to flash cards for the kids! When I went on the sight I found out they do free crafts for kids on Saturdays! I already looked up the store nearest to me to get in on some free fun for kids this summer!
I love the site and I love the products but what I love most of all is that my kids are excited to learn. My daughter Devon was born fifteen weeks early and suffered with some major health problems as well as delayed learning. I was not used to having a child that wasn’t reading before kindergarten before her and she is my fifth out of six. I was frustrated because the traditional ways I had taught the other children did not keep her attention and was brutal for both of us. When I got the Road to Reading Activity Center I was hesitant that it would just be like any of the other learning to read games, systems, books that I had tried before but it wasn’t!!! As I write this review I am tearing up. She was so excited she matched the letter puzzle piece to the picture it went with. She then took the little letter cards and was able to spell the words that the picture was. She took the sight cards and wrote the words. Then she said she was ready to read the book. I was worried she would get upset when she couldn’t do it on her own and we would both be miserable trying to get her reading in. NOPE, that was not the case at all. She read the book because she had been working on the words! She was so excited when she finished the Orange set! I had never before seen her filled with so much confidence and pride in her accomplishments. She wanted to do the next (purple) set immediately after finishing the first!
Road to Reading Activity Center
“Our hands-on activity center gets children ready to read—by building one skill at a time! First, children complete alphabet puzzles to learn letter sounds…then they use picture cards & letter tiles to build simple words. Next, kids progress to tracing sight-words with fun-to-touch tactile word cards. Finally, children put it all together to read an entire book…all on their own! With Devon we have been following this calendar and it has actually been really enjoyable! I love that she is learning, having fun, and building! I love that I am growing closer to my kid. I absolutely adore her but in the past trying to do homework or reading was a fight, and now I feel like we look forward to what the next thing we will do thanks to Lakeshore! Check them out guys, I honestly cannot say enough great things about them!
