Hello once again, I hope this review finds you excited about the school year ending and summer approaching quickly as ever! Those of us Mommies with children know that when summer arrives so does Summer Reading Lists and other Summer Reading Programs. Some kids find this the boring part of summer while others get excited to live a new adventure in a new book every summer. I am lucky to have a son that loves to read adventurous books and surprisingly, he also loves to read books on the history of WW2. I was happy to accept the offer to review the book MOUSEHEART as soon as I was given the opportunity because of my sons love of reading. My oldest son Cody is going to be turning 13 years old this summer and although that is on the higher age end of the age range for this book I knew that he would be interested in reading it.
As soon as I took MOUSEHEART out of the box it had arrived in and brought it to Cody, I saw his eyes light up with interest and excitement! He was so excited he couldn’t wait and I think he gave me a paper cut when he ripped it out of my hands and ran up to his room to start on it. He did not want to waste a moment and wanted to dive right into the excitement of Hoppers adventures in MOUSEHEART. I walked away feeling like such a proud mommy, that I had done something right with raising this one. I know that we have all had that feeling in our hearts before and we will have them more and more as they grow up into their own individual adult personalities! Let me tell you that my son, the boy who learned to read late and has struggled with it almost his entire life, he finished all of MOUSEHEART in less than a week. It took him 5 days to come to me with MOUSEHEART in his hands and tell ame how much he really loved it. He told me that he wanted to start reading the next MOUSEHEART book in the series if there is one. I am just so happy that he enjoyed reading MOUSEHEART and that it left him wanting to read more! It takes a lot to keep that kid interested in something for more than 15-20 minutes at a time. I would recommend MOUSEHEART to a mommy with a child that needs excitement in the story in order to finish reading the book that they had started.
