What once began as a misunderstood form of urban rebellion has evolved into one of the most exciting, accessible, and respected art movements of the 21st century. And at the center of this transformation in Europe stands Graffitifun, a pioneering graffiti workshop company that has redefined how graffiti is taught, appreciated, and celebrated.

Founded in 2005 by Dutch graffiti artist Michel Steers, Graffitifun has grown from a passion project into a European powerhouse. With more than 40 professional artists and a presence in over a dozen major cities including Amsterdam, Antwerp, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona, London, and Milan: Graffitifun is now recognized as Europe’s largest graffiti workshop provider.
What distinguishes the company is not just its scale, but its unwavering commitment to quality, education, and respect. Every workshop is designed not only to unleash creativity but also to instill values of teamwork, cultural appreciation, and responsible expression.
The vision of a young artist turned leader
At just 16 years old, Michel Steers launched Graffitifun from his hometown of Holendrecht, Amsterdam, with a clear vision: to create an environment where people of all ages could safely and creatively engage with graffiti. Now in his mid-30s, Steers reflects on nearly two decades of growth.
“I never saw graffiti as just vandalism, it was always something bigger,” he says. “Graffitifun was built to show the world that graffiti can be a powerful tool for learning, self-expression, and bringing people together.”
That vision has paid off. Today, the company reaches thousands of participants every month, offering workshops for corporate teams, schools, children’s parties, tourists, community centers, families, and art lovers of all kinds.
More than just a graffiti workshop
From the outside, a Graffitifun workshop might look like a fun day of spray painting. But underneath lies a sophisticated structure with professional-grade materials, detailed instruction, and highly respected artists from the global graffiti scene. The company even developed its own Graffitifun-branded spray can line, manufactured in Italy, further elevating the quality of the experience.
“Our goal is to make every participant feel like a real artist,” says one of the company’s lead instructors. “But we also want them to walk away with a deeper understanding of the art form—its history, its ethics, and its place in today’s culture.”
Workshops are designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced creatives. Each session includes safety instruction, background on graffiti culture, and hands-on practice guided by veteran artists many of whom maintain active roles in street art communities around the world.
A social mission at the core
Beyond the paint and the murals, Graffitifun carries a clear social mission: to shift the narrative around graffiti and help the public recognize it as a legitimate and valuable art form. That mission extends into schools, youth programs, and educational partnerships where Graffitifun teaches students about respect for public space, teamwork, and artistic responsibility.
With a reputation for professionalism and consistency, Graffitifun has also become a certified training company, offering internship programs to students interested in art, education, and event organization.
“At its core, Graffitifun is about opportunity,” Steers explains. “It’s about showing young people that creativity has a place in their lives and possibly even in their careers.”
Expanding the canvas
While the company is firmly rooted in the Netherlands and Belgium, its international footprint continues to expand. Graffitifun regularly operates in major cultural capitals and is increasingly being invited to participate in large-scale festivals, international events, and tourism partnerships.
Despite this growth, Steers insists that the fun, personal approach remains unchanged.
“We’re artists first,” he says. “Even though we’re a market leader now, every workshop is still about connection between the artist, the participant, and the art itself.”
A colorful future ahead
Looking forward, Graffitifun shows no signs of slowing down. With demand rising, especially in the tourism and corporate sectors, the team is exploring new locations, new formats, and digital integration. Yet no matter how large the company grows, its mission remains simple and clear: to make graffiti accessible, joyful, and deeply human.
In an era where creative experiences are more sought after than ever, Graffitifun offers a vibrant reminder that some of the most powerful forms of expression begin with a wall, a can of paint, and an open mind. Come also and enjoy the graffiti courses from Graffitifun!
